Islamophobia Awareness Month is back!

2022 marks an important milestone as it is the 10 Year Anniversary of IAM. In light of this, we will be celebrating the great work and achievements of the IAM campaign over the past decade.

The theme for IAM 2022 is #tacklingdenial, with this year’s campaign having a focus on the denial of Islamophobia. Islamophobia Awareness Month aims to raise awareness of the discrimination Muslims may face, and the impact that misconceptions about Muslims and Islam may have on individuals and communities in all aspects of society.

We hope to build on the incredible success of IAM 2021, which consisted of engagement with more than 120 supporters, over 250 events nationwide and excellent media engagement. Many organisations got involved with the campaign, including police forces, local councils and corporate organisations.

Here’s how to get involved this year:

What is Islamophobia Awareness Month?

Islamophobia Awareness Month (IAM) is a campaign founded in 2012 by a group of Muslim organisations to raise awareness of Islamophobia. The campaign aims to showcase the positive contribution of Muslims and raise awareness of Islamophobia in society.

The vision of IAM is to see a society free from Islamophobia in all its forms, and the campaign widely recognised and supported every year.
