University of Edinburgh: Islamophobia and Student Life

On Tuesday 8th November, the Islamic Society of Edinburgh hosted a panel discussion on ‘Islamophobia and student life’. MEND’s Daniel Gilius was invited to take part in this event, during which students shared their experiences of embracing their Muslim identity whilst navigating the complexities of student life. Topics such as finding spaces and time to prayer, bullying in high school as well as tips on how to socialise despite the dominance of alcohol based events were discussed.
