On Thursday 2nd November, Educate Against Islamophobia (EAI) hosted a workshop for staff and students at the University of Edinburgh. This workshop aimed to inform attendees about the prevalence of Islamophobia in education in Scotland. During the lunchtime session, attendees were introduced to a brief examination of the root causes of Islamophobia and some of the data on Islamophobia in education settings. This was followed by an introduction to the materials produced by EAI which are available to teachers across the country to help raise awareness and tackle Islamophobia in schools.
We would like to thank the University of Edinburgh for hosting this important session and look forward to working together again in the future.
