IAM Launch: Yorkshire

Yorkshire IAM Launch

On Tuesday 1st November Yorkshire proudly launched the Islamophobia Awareness Month (IAM) campaign at the Holocaust Centre North located in the University of Huddersfield. The event was hosted by the Huddersfield Council of Mosques in partnership with Kirklees Council.
Powerful speeches were given at the event by local politicians, police and community leaders calling for collaboration between communities to tackle Islamophobia and make it history. The speeches were also broadcasted live on British Muslim TV (SKY 752).

The attendees also had an opportunity to view the new IAM exhibition which showcases the positive Muslim contributions in the UK and the issue of Islamophobia in various aspects of society.

We would like to thank Kirklees Council, Huddersfield Council of Mosques and the Holocaust Centre North for hosting and organising such an amazing and eye-opening event.
