IAM2022

Islamophobia Awareness Month is back! 2022 marks an important milestone as it is the 10 Year Anniversary of IAM. In light of this, we will be celebrating the great work and achievements of the IAM campaign over the past decade.

The theme for IAM 2022 is #TacklingDenial, with this year’s campaign having a focus on the denial of Islamophobia. Islamophobia Awareness Month aims to raise awareness of the discrimination Muslims may face, and the impact that misconceptions about Muslims and Islam may have on individuals and communities in all aspects of society.

We hope to build on the incredible success of IAM 2021, which consisted of engagement with more than 120 partners, over 250 events nationwide and excellent media engagement. Many organisations got involved with the campaign, including police forces, local councils and corporate organisations.

IAM 2022 is going to be bigger and better than ever before and will see more in-person events, workshops, exhibitions, roundtables and much more. Take part in the conversation and be part of the solution. Find out how you can get involved this year by visiting www.islamophobia-awareness.org or getting in touch at [email protected]

Preparation for IAM 2022 is well underway and we will respond to all enquiries in due course. Please keep an eye out on our website and social media for updates.

What is Islamophobia Awareness Month?

Islamophobia Awareness Month (IAM) is a campaign founded in 2012 by a group of Muslim organisations to challenge Islamophobia. The campaign aims to showcase the positive contribution of Muslims in the UK and raise awareness of the problem of Islamophobia in society.

The month-long campaign takes place every November and encourages individuals and organisations across society to confront the severity of Islamophobia. The vision is to see Islamophobia Awareness Month widely recognised and supported every year and to see a fair and inclusive society, free from all aspects of Islamophobia.
